Acts as a Digital Marketing Specialist within the Commercial and Support Services (MR) Division, Marine Corps Headquarters. The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: as per art direction provided, responsible for creating visuals and content for marketing campaigns including email advertising, digital media and social media platforms. Initiates, develops and designs concept art from customer feedback and translates it into marketable advertising campaigns in direct support of the Marine Corps Exchange as well as other branches of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS). Develops and maximizes traffic to MCCS businesses and social media sites through direct marketing and other online advertising and social networking opportunities. Creates, facilitates and participates effectively and authentically in key conversations on social media channels.
Based on the art direction provided, responsible for developing, executing and producing new artwork designs for multimedia marketing campaigns across the organization.
Contributes to the ongoing integrated development of the overall social media presence strategic plan to increase MCCS brand awareness and increase revenue for MCCS businesses. Develops and manages content and editorial calendar for all social media channels, keeping all channels active and engaged. Ensures brand consistency across all content. Proactively analyzes traffic and makes necessary adjustments. Helps coordinate efforts with all order marketing departments to utilize social media for proactive corporate messaging in conjunction with broader digital marketing activities. Formulates and manages virtual event marketing campaigns with the goal of driving foot traffic to MCCS businesses
Creates actionable plans to increase traffic to all digital assets and grow followers on all social media platforms. Tracks, analyzes and reports campaign metrics for all forms of digital and social media marketing to guide future campaign improvements and direction. Provide ongoing reporting on campaign success to HQ and facilities marketing team.
Research new techniques to reach customers through social media, digital marketing campaigns and other techniques. Strategizes, manages and executes the integration of new media channels with existing media to maximize productivity. Constantly improves MCCS’ social media strategy by leveraging innovative technologies and business practices. Stay up to date on the latest social media best practices and technologies
Head of HQ email marketing campaign. Meets with internal services to establish schedule. Creates internal templates and works with all parties to ensure content is collected. Packs the materials and submits them to the production company. Checks all emails for correct content, brand consistency and appropriate marketing elements. Conceptualizes and creates distinct and unique email advertising campaigns using Adobe Creative Suite™ and CRM tools. Executes and delivers finalized campaigns to targeted audiences from email database using ExactTarget™ software systems.
Makes necessary changes, updates and additions to the Marine Corps Exchange HQ website. Meets with internal branches and organizations, as well as external constituents regarding project specifications, including content, graphic direction, material selection, release recommendations, timelines, and media requirements.
Used Adobe Creative Suite™ to create artwork for multi-modal campaigns, including print, digital, media and new technologies that become available. Develops artwork into spot color and CMYK color camera-ready print files, supported by knowledge of offset and digital printing processes. Participates in verifying the work of subcontractors, managing production deadlines with subcontractors and coordinating the execution of campaigns throughout the company.
Selects, analyzes, recommends and obtains cost estimates from external vendors for approved project services such as photographers, product manufacturers and printers. Prioritizes, tracks, manages and maintains records of items, costs and schedules for multiple projects while working within a defined budget.
May photograph or film projects on location using photography or filming knowledge and skills. Uses photo or video editing software for color correction and image manipulation on all final projects to support prepress standards. Selects and purchases stock photography for publicity material and maintains a comprehensive photo library. Archive and retain digital copies of final and completed artwork, photography and video files.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white collar position where it may be necessary to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Minimum qualifications
Licence from an accredited college or university in graphic arts, commercial art, or a related field appropriate to the work of the position; WHERE an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired in the above; WHERE three years of practical experience in an advertising environment that demonstrates that the candidate has acquired knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to those acquired above.
Must have skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Acrobat Pro) and CRM/Marketing campaign software such as ExacTarget. Proficiency in Microsoft enterprise software is essential. Knowledge and experience of content management systems. Experience in videography and video editing from raw and stock is strongly desired.
