Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit review: a more thorough cleaning
While the mop is never the number one reason people choose a robot vacuum, the new Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit may change their mind. The $ 99.99 accessory is a vibrating water tank with disposable cleaning pads that gives a pretty powerful punch on hardwood floors. Work with the Deebot T8 AIVI, the Deebot T8 + and the Deebot T8, the cleaning kit was implemented by GearBrain on the last of the two robot vacuums, to see how if it did a better job than the standard cleaning plate and cloth pad that came with the Deebot T8.

Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit – Design
The Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit comes with the water tank and a pack of 25 disposable pads that allow you to replace them after an additional cleaning cycle. This tank is noticeably thicker due to a vibrating plate on the bottom which is designed to move oscillate 480 times per minute, although the water tank is the same size, holding 240ml just like the T8 and the T8 AIVI.
Disposable pads are also designed to pick up more debris from the floor, as well as 99% of bacteria. But note that you unfortunately cannot use the reusable, washable pad that came with the T8 on the thicker plate.
Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit – Installation
The Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit is quite easy to install. First, you will open the rubber stopper and fill it with water. Ecovacs recommends using purifying water or softened water. We used tap water in our tests.
Next, you’ll want to attach one of the disposable cloths – not the reusable one that came with the T8 – with the fluffy side against the plate and not facing the floor.
Finally, take the water tank out of the T8 (or T8 + or T8 AIVI) and push the Ozmo Pro into place instead. It doesn’t fit as well as the one you’re replacing, and that’s mainly because of the swing plate that will hang down from the bottom. But listen to the snap, which is one way of knowing the plate is installed. The second, and even better, is that the T8 will tell you when the Ozmo Pro has been installed, saying it out loud: a nice touch.

Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit – Performance
After putting the new tank in place, we pressed the power button on the top of the Deebot T8 and let the robot start. With the pad in place, just like with the reusable pad, the vacuum knows it’s supposed to clean. We had the setting on a high water level because our floors are in a constant state of disarray, and the robot left a slight but noticeable trail of water as it moved. It wasn’t excessive and it dried in about a minute.
With the oscillating cleaning plate in place, the T8 immediately began avoiding carpeted areas, as it does when the standard cleaning plate is also installed. But one thing that was noticeably different was the sound, with the oscillating plate noticeably louder than the standard cleaning attachment. Ecovacs mentions that the Ozmo Pro is going to be louder on its site, citing the electric swing plate as the reason.
Still, does that sound translate into a deeper cleansing? We should say, judging by the appearance of the pads, we think so. It certainly hammered some sticky spots (a spilled drink) better than the standard plate, although it was interesting to see that the dirt pickup was centered towards the back of the plate.
We also noted that the Ozmo Pro picked up dog hair a bit better than the standard reusable cleaning plate. While the vacuum feature is of course the primary way you’d expect the Deebot to collect dog hair, it was nice to see the Ozmo Pro performing as a backup, and better than the reusable tampon.

Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit – Price
The Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit is priced at $ 99.99. You can pick up additional 25 packs of disposable pads on the Ecovacs website for $ 24.99, although when we checked they were out of stock.
Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit – Worth buying
Do you need the additional $ 100 Ecovacs Ozmo Pro cleaning kit to clean your floors? No. The Deebot T8, T8 + and T8 AIVI all come with reusable cleaning plates, water tanks and pads to turn robot vacuums into brooms. But as we’ve noted in other reviews before, cleaning capabilities aren’t usually the best feature, with robot vacuum cleaners.
The Ozmo Pro seems to give that a boost, with pads and an oscillating plate that digs a bit better into the ground to pick up dirt, and even – as we’ve seen – dog hair than the vacuum cleaner itself may have failed.
One downside of course is that you are using disposable cleaning pads here, which means you have to buy more, after going through the 25 that come with the kit. Depending on how often you like to mop, it can get expensive, at around $ 1 per mop ride.
But if you’re really hoping to rely on your Deebot T8, T8 +, and T8 AIVI as your cleaning tool, the Ozmo Pro may be worth the investment as we find it takes cleaning to a higher level than the standard cleaning plate. . able to provide.
- Pads allow you to pick up dog hair as well as dirt in the dirt
- Disposable pads mean you don’t have to wash the mop pad
- Oscillating cleaning plate moves 480 times per minute
- The towels are disposable and cannot be reused
- Pad replacement cost, which works out to about $ 1 per cleaning round
- Stronger than the standard cleaning accessory
