Heart-centered resolutions for beautiful skin
While 2020 has knocked us back in some ways, it has also given us the opportunity to reassess the status quo. With health and wellness becoming more prevalent than ever, we redefined our thinking about beauty and personal care – and when we remembered that beauty should be good for us but also good for the whole planet, the new rules of beauty are born.
With an emphasis on natural beauty, the new beauty rules are easy to learn. They embrace the inner beauty and the outer shine in the arms of self-esteem. The New Rules of Beauty are based on kindness to ourselves and Mother Earth. This year we are planting the seeds of intention for beautiful skin and simply to feel good. But how can we feel good if our beauty routines don’t also feed the planet?
Here’s the harsh reality: the beauty industry is making a lot of negative contributions to the environmental crisis. Most of the industry relies on non-recyclable plastic packaging that ends up in a landfill or in the ocean, while cosmetics contain chemical vapors that pollute oceans and ozone. Then there is the fact that many products contain chemicals that are potentially harmful to humans …the United States has only partially banned or restricted 30 hazardous ingredients, while the EU has banned over 1,400. Something to watch out for.
Needless to say, there is a call to redefine skin care, starting here with inspiring resolutions guided by the New Rules of Beauty. We follow the leadership of brands like Burt’s Bees, with products that are safe for our body and respectful of the earth. These skin care resolutions are not difficult; it’s about tapping into your heart. Can’t we all use some in 2021?
