The main gate at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort will be closed starting Monday for gate upgrades, the Marines said.
The gate closed at 5 a.m., but motorists can still access it.
While the main gate is closed, the primary way to enter the base will be from the “truck gate” on Kimes Avenue north of the main gate on Trask Parkway/Highway 21.
All outbound traffic will leave through the main gate exit lanes as usual. Inbound traffic at the main gate is expected to resume no earlier than 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Marines said.
The MCAS Beaufort Visitor Center will be closed while the main gate is closed.
Urgent business that is normally conducted at the MCAS Beaufort Visitor Center can be handled at the MCRD Parris Island Visitor Center, the Marines said.
