Marine Corps Sergeant Major Hosts Inaugural SMMC Retiree Summit > U.S. Marine Corps Flagship > News View

MCB QUANTICO, Virginia —

Marine Corps Sergeant Major Troy E. Black met with former Marine Corps Sergeant Majors at the first retired SMMC Summit at Clubs in Quantico, May 2-3, 2022.

The purpose of the summit was to discuss the current and future direction of the Marine Corps.

“The most important thing from the top from my perspective is giving those on the outside first-hand information about where the Marine Corps is and, more importantly, where the leadership of the Marine Corps wants to take it in the future,” said Sgt. Major Alford McMichael.

Attending the summit were 13th Marine Corps Sergeant Major Lewis G. Lee, 14th Marine Corps Sergeant Major Alford McMichael, 15th Marine Corps Sergeant Major John L. Estrada, and 18th Marine Corps Sergeant Major Ronald L. Green.
