Marine Corps veteran Anthony Almeida of Pawtucket dies at 73

Anthony Almeida, 73, of Norman Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, died January 5, 2022 at his home. He was Robin L. Cambra’s lifetime partner.

Born March 2, 1948 in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Ferreira) Almeida.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Almeida served in the Vietnam conflict as a sniper with the 1st Marine Reconnaissance Battalion and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Almeida was a director of several entertainment businesses in Rhode Island and North Carolina. He was an avid Nascar racing fan, loved to travel, spend time with his family, take road trips, and enjoy flea markets and antiques.

Besides his life partner of over twenty years, he leaves behind a daughter, Isis Loynds of Cumberland, RI, and two sisters, Arlene Barbosa of Rehoboth, MA, and Sandra Pimental of East Providence, RI. him several close-knit, loving family members, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends.

His funeral will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI Masks are required.

Interment with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, RI

Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rebello Funeral Home.
