VIENNA, Virginia (April 1, 2022) – Navy Federal Credit Union today announced a new name. The new name, “Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, Veterans and Their Families Federal Credit Union,” brings greater awareness to service members of all branches of service, veterans and their families that they are eligible for membership.
The name change comes as the credit union estimates that 45% of the United States is eligible for membership since all active duty in all branches of service and all veterans in all branches of service, regardless of length of service, as well as family members are eligible.
“As a member-owned organization, we are always looking for ways to demonstrate that we serve the entire military community,” said Pam Piligian, director of marketing for Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast. Guard, Space Force, Veterans and their Families Federal Credit Union. “Although our origins began with service members of the Navy, we have a proven history of sharing the benefits of membership with every branch of service. This name change is intended to make it very clear that all service members, former veterans and their families can join our credit union family.
Service to the military community is at the heart of the credit union’s mission. This change will ensure that everyone understands the extended eligibility for so many people in the United States. “We are thrilled with this historic moment and look forward to continuing to support the military community,” Piligian added.
